Greetings from Leffingwell Elementary School. It is an honor to be the principal at Leffingwell and get to work with such a fantastic group of dedicated and caring educators. Leffingwell is a student-centered school that prides itself on working closely with families to create an exceptional learning environment for our students. As a result, U.S. News & World Report selected Leffingwell as a 2022 Best Elementary School Award Winner, the United States selected Leffingwell as a 2017 & 2023 National Blue Ribbon School, California selected Leffingwell as a California Distinguished School, California Business for Education Excellence named Leffingwell as an Honor Roll School multiple times, Great Schools recognized Leffingwell as a model Spotlight School for high levels of student achievement, and Great Schools designated Leffingwell as a "10" school in their GREAT SCHOOLS RATINGS. In addition, Leffingwell is consistently one of the highest performing elementary schools in the surrounding area according to state test results.
It is my desire to keep the focus on increasing student achievement and doing whatever it takes to help ALL our students be successful and enjoy coming to school each day. - Increasing student achievement for ALL students and helping each student master the CA state standards.
- Knowing each student as a unique and special individual so that we can challenge him or her at his or her current level.

Regularly checking on your child's progress is very important. It will help you notice strengths and find areas that need to be strengthened. Talk to your child daily about what he/she does in the classroom and on the playground. If you have concerns or questions, please contact your child's teacher. The school's phone number is (562) 907-6300. In addition, prompt and consistent attendance is a necessary and important component of your child’s education. To help us provide your child with the best education possible, please avoid being absent unless absolutely necessary. If your child is absent, either call the school attendance line at (562) 907-6310 to report the illness or send a note on your child’s first day back.
You are the best gift you can give your child. You are your child's most important teacher. Spend time with your child. The elementary years go quickly, but they are among the most important and fundamental years of your child’s life.
Great things are happening at Leffingwell Elementary School! We encourage you to get involved by joining our PTA, volunteering at school activities, and taking an active role in your child's education.
