July 9th Summer Update

Hello Leffingwell Families,

I hope your summer is off to a GREAT start even with all that is going on recently. I wanted to give you a quick update about the plans that are being made for the 2020-2021 school year. Our District is currently making a variety of plans for the ever-changing situation so we are ready to go on August 11th whether it looks the same, gets worse, or improves.

Hopefully you were able to attend one of the Town Hall meetings this week. The last one is tomorrow morning at 9:00am if you haven’t attended yet. I would also encourage you to visit ewcsd.org and check out the 2020-2021 Plan. This site contains a lot of information including the presentation that was shared at the Town Hall meetings. The presentation (attached in pdf below) gives an overview of what you can expect in regards to daily schedule, arriving at school, classroom safety guidelines, cleaning procedures, recess/lunch procedures, school dismissal, etc…

On Monday, July 13th, a PARENT SURVEY will be available to complete regarding which INSTRUCTIONAL MODEL you prefer for your child. We are asking ALL parents to PLEASE complete by July 20th. The information will be used to finalize our new class rosters.

Please note that our Superintendent will send out community updates on July 14th and July 31st, and I will also send out any pertinent information as it continues to arise.

Although your summer is undoubtedly looking a little different, we would still love to see what you are up to and highlight you on Instagram participating in our Leffingwell T-Shirt Challenge. Simply email or DM your picture to Dr. Blackwell. Also, don’t forget to KEEP READING and complete our Summer Reading Challenge (form attached in pdf below).

Thank you for your time, enjoy your summer, and we hope to see you in August.

Sincerely,
