Hi Leffingwell Families,
I hope your summer is going GREAT! It has been quite the summer at Leffingwell as you may have noticed when you drive by. Leffingwell is undergoing major construction. We are super excited about all the updates that are coming our way. Our classrooms and cafeteria are undergoing updates in three phases and scheduled to be all completed by the end of December/start of January. Our classrooms are being gutted and getting new flooring, walls, ceilings, windows, doors, electrical, plumbing, cabinetry, tech walls, exterior paint, and roofing. Our cafeteria will be getting AC and some other updates. Next summer the main office will be getting updated as well to complete the full Leffingwell modernization! You will notice eight temporary classrooms on the field that will be used through December as classrooms rotate through them when their wing is updated. I’ll keep you updated as we continue to make progress.
Attached to this email is a summer letter with some important information about our District and school for the upcoming year, which begins on Tuesday, August 10th. Please note our District will also be hosting a Town Hall Meeting on Thursday, July 29th at 6:00pm via Zoom to share information about what to expect in the 2021-2022 school year.
Once we have clearance to begin using areas of our campus again, I’ll be able to update everyone with exactly how the first day will look. I will send out an email with that info as we get closer to the start of the year.
