Leffingwell Elementary School has been nominated by the United States Department of Education for the National Blue Ribbon School Award! This is a very prestigious award and an unbelievable honor! This year only 35 schools out of over 10,400 schools in California have been invited to apply for this highly regarded award. No school in the East Whittier City School District has ever received this award, and only a small number of schools in Southern California have won it. The application and selection process is very intensive and will take until August. The U.S. Secretary of Education will announce the award winning schools in September. Let’s Go Leopards!
